PCB Given Contracts To 19 Players

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday awarded central contracts to 19 players but ignored under the control of the former captain Shoaib Malik, Danish Kaneria leg-spinner and Mohammad Yousuf batsman.
Malik, who also lost a contract in time past, and Kaneria were not named after the two were studied as part of a corruption scandal last year.
Veteran batsman Mohammad Yousuf, dropped the World Cup team in bad shape, he failed to win a contract.
PCB, said the players were placed into three groups, taking into their seniority.
"Central contracts have been given for six months from 1 January to 30 June 2011, and will be reviewed over the next six months," PCB said in a statement.
The former captain Younis Khan has returned to class a contract after failing to make the list last year after the ban after a tour of Australia, which was marked by the indiscipline of the players and the defeats of all parties. His ban was lifted last year on appeal.
In addition, Younis, Shahid Afridi as one day captain, Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Umar Gul and Shoaib Akhtar are indicated at the top and receive a monthly salary of 250,000 rupees (3,000 dollars).
Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal, Abdur Rehman, Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Riaz were nominated in the category B for players to get paid 175,000 rupees (2,000 dollars).
Taufiq Umar, Asad Shafiq, Ahmed Shahzad, Azhar Ali, Adnan Akmal, Tanvir Ahmed and Junaid Khan place in Class C, to earn 100,000 rupees (1,175 dollars) wages.
PCB last month said Malik and Kaneria will be given central contracts with the approval of the integrity of the committees set up after laying up the allegations against players from Pakistan during the tour of England last year.
Former captain Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer serve long bans on corruption charges related to travel. The PCB had suspended their contracts in October last year.
The trio also prohibits criminal prosecution in Britain. It must appear before a London court on 17 March.
